Homelessness can seem like an overwhelming problem.  Many people wonder what one person or congregation can do to truly make a difference.

The Family Promise Interfaith Hospitality Network program provides a way for churches and synagogues to work together to help homeless families.  Each congregation participating in the Network provide overnight lodging and meals for three to five families for one week every 10 to 12 weeks on a rotational basis.

Sts. Peter and Paul will be support church for St. Luke's Lutheran Church but the families will be housed at St. Joseph's old convent in Cold Spring.  This is an important ministry and we are hoping that many of you will be interested in helping.  On Tuesday, Feb. 6th at 7:30 pm, the Women Who Care will hold a training session at their monthly meeting for any men or women interested in volunteering their time for the Family Promise program.  Flyers are available for volunteers to indicate the area in which they are most interested in assisting.  If you have questions, please contact Mary Beth Rust (635-2795), Theresa Bezold (635-8884) or Carla Martin (448-0507).
